FIBROSEAL
Fifteen years after initial trials of Macroseal in Italy, and its consequent widespread adoption on motorways, highways, town and country roads to meet the requirements of steadily increasing traffic, GIACHINO BITUMI has recently developed a new product known as FIBROSEAL, consisting of a Macroseal layer reinforced with continuous glass fibers (VETRO E) (low alkaline boron-silicon-aluminum-calcium glass):
Compared to its predecessor, FIBROSEAL offers significantly improved service characteristics thanks to the glass fiber content which enables the components to be formulated as necessary.
The 15 micron diameter glass fibers selected are bundled into filaments of approximately 65 fibers each. A mere 30 grams of fiber per square meter of FIBROSEAL yield 1000 linear meters of filament which, cut into 6 mm lengths, provides a capillary reinforcement lattice for the bitumen mortar.
The quantity of fiber may vary depending on requirements and type of other components.
