Fibroseal

FIBROSEAL
Fifteen years after initial trials of Macroseal in Italy, and its consequent widespread adoption on motorways, highways, town and country roads to meet the requirements of steadily increasing traffic, GIACHINO BITUMI has recently developed a new product known as FIBROSEAL, consisting of a Macroseal layer reinforced with continuous glass fibers (VETRO E) (low alkaline boron-silicon-aluminum-calcium glass):

Compared to its predecessor, FIBROSEAL offers significantly improved service characteristics thanks to the glass fiber content which enables the components to be formulated as necessary.

The 15 micron diameter glass fibers selected are bundled into filaments of approximately 65 fibers each. A mere 30 grams of fiber per square meter of FIBROSEAL yield 1000 linear meters of filament which, cut into 6 mm lengths, provides a capillary reinforcement lattice for the bitumen mortar.

The quantity of fiber may vary depending on requirements and type of other components.

FIBROSEAL FEATURES
Can be summarized as follows:

  1. Higher viscosity of bitumen mortar with total elimination of runs.
  2. Stronger mortar texture with a higher percentage of coarse material (up to 65%) relative to fine components, giving the finished product a more pronounced roughness and higher friction coefficient.
  3. Increased durability thanks to the fiber reinforcement, and heavier bitumen layering without the risk of reflow.
  4. Greater flexibility of mortar after curing with superior resistance to induced cracking.
  5. Reduced risks of grit debonding and consequent chipping upon resumption of vehicular traffic.

THE REASON BEHIND A CHOICE

FIBROSEAL raises head and shoulder above all existing Slurry-seal products:

  • Is the high-tech answer to the relentless demand for heavy-duty road surfacing.
  • Is the reliable coating material ensuring increased comfort and surface durability.
  • Gives you the extra edge in safety which could help to save many lives.
